I thought I would make this blog to help couples who are looking at booking me as their wedding photographer, hopefully this will help with any questions you may have!
Do you have insurance?
Yes! Of course, any professional and responsible business owner should have business and public liability insurance.
Do you travel?
Yes, although most of my weddings are usually around the Teesside and North Yorkshire area I am more than happy to travel out of area to capture your wedding! Travel costs may apply.
What equipment do you use?
I have 3 Nikon D750 camera bodies, Nikon lenses which cover a wide range; 35mm, 50mm, 24-70 and 70-200mm, I also have a collection of speed-lights, triggers, and endless batteries and memory cards! To edit I use Mac computers, and Lightroom and Photoshop.
Are all images edited?
Yes, every image I take goes through a careful editing process. Firstly all images will be uploaded to Lightroom, where I will do the initial ‘cull’ where I will remove any images that are duplicates or not needed, then I will apply a basic edit and do any cropping, colour correctly to each image, then I do a final edit of each image individually in photoshop where I will do anything I feel is needed to make the image the best it can be.
Do you offer a pre wedding shoot?
Yes, a pre wedding shoot is available to add to your wedding photography package if you wish, I find that pre wedding sessions are usually best for couples who are may be a bit anxious or shy at the thought of being in front of camera. It can also be a great to have the images to use for your wedding, as a keep sake like on a guest signing board or guest book, or just nice to have some more images to look back on of you both together!
What is the booking process?
Firstly where possible I will suggest we meet up and have an initial consultation where we chat about your big day, and you can look through my wedding albums, and view more of my work. This can sometimes help meeting in person as you get a feel for if you can see me being part of your day, as well as finding out a little more about the style and way in which I work. I can also offer Skype/telephone appointments for those who live out of area.
After we meet/chat if you decide i’m the photographer for you, I will pop all of your details into my online system, I will require a £150 deposit to secure your date and package, once received I will email you over your conformation and all of the details as well as an electronic contract for you to read through and sign.
Whats happens after we book?
After that I am just here when you need me! Any questions, advice or help just get in touch, I am more than happy to help were I can. A few months before the date I will email over questionnaires for you to fill in online which will cover everything I need to know about your day, from timings, guests and suppliers. I will then put together a group list for your day (from the details in your questionnaire) for you to check over and make any changes too that you wish.
Some couples may feel they need to meet up again before the wedding to go over all of the details and this is fine too.
Then we are all set! I will pop you a message before the wedding confirming the time and place I will be meeting you, then I will see you on your wedding day.
What if your ill/ dead?
I promise I will try my absolute best not to be ill or die on or before your wedding day! But I know sometimes these things are out of our control. Thankfully it hasn’t happened yet.
I can assure you it would have to be very serious to keep me away from your wedding, but in such an event I would already have my second shooter Chrissy who will be set to photograph your wedding, she knows exactly how I work, and I would have every confidence in her to be the main photographer for your wedding, I also have a large network of talented photographer friends who I can call upon in an emergency so it would be highly likely I could also get you a second photographer for your wedding too.
