About Me
Emma Marie Photography is a Portrait & Wedding Photography company based in Guisborough which was set up in February 2010 by myself Emma (Marie!)
I first took an interest in taking photos as a teenager, I’ve always liked to be creative, if I wasn’t taking photos I’d be writing poetry, or acting or singing at stage school. I won my first photography competition at the age of 12 when I joined secondary school.
More About Me
My love of photography really took off in 2007 when I had my first daughter Hannah, I think that’s when I realised just how important photographs are as babies grow and change so quickly so being able to capture that and have nice photos to capture those memories and look back on is so important. So that’s when I started to study what to do with a camera other than simply ‘take a photo’. At the start I built everything up using my daughter as my willing model! I studied Photoshop at college as I soon realised that editing would be a big part of being a photographer and good editing skills can completely change a photograph.
It was in February 2010 I decided to take the step and became Emma Marie Photography – and I haven’t looked back since, I love what i do and the friends I have made on the way and feel very privileged to be able to have a job that I love.
I now have 3 daughters my youngest born in 2014 and love that I have been able to capture so many images of them growing up and love that I am able to do that for other people too, my eldest daughter Hannah is now 18 years old and very eager to follow in my footsteps and since April 2022 has been assisting me at weddings and second shooting at weddings and is well on her way to being a very talented wedding photographer in her own right!

Emma was great throughout the process; from the moment we booked her she was helpful, friendly and easy to communicate with, and I wasn’t worried at all about the photography on the day because of that. They did a brilliant job of dealing with a lot of distractible people for the group photos lol. When we went off for the couple photos, it was so much easier because Emma was friendly and easy to talk to. That was hugely important to us and the selection of photos we have as a result are just perfect, ranging from the funnier ones to the beautiful happy-tears ones.

Emma is an amazing photographer. She made us feel really comfortable having our photos done and thankfully gave us instructions so we didn’t look totally awkward (we don’t really do photos!!!) She is such a lovely person and I would highly recommend her! She was willing to tailor her package to fit what we wanted for the day and we feel she was excellent value for money. We booked Emma 2.5 years before our wedding as we knew we wanted her there. Emma was so familiar with our venue and knew the ‘places’ for the best photographs, she was very professional and is extremely talented in what she does. The photos leave us speechless and I’m so glad we chose Emma to photograph our day, nothing was too much for her, she got people involved with photos to make sure she captured everything.
