Award Winning Middleton Lodge Wedding Photographer

I founded Emma Marie Photography in 2010, and since then, I’ve been offering portrait and wedding photography services in Guisborough and throughout County Durham, including at Middleton Lodge. My love for photography began in my teens and grew stronger after the birth of my daughter, Hannah, in 2007. To enhance my skills, I even studied Photoshop in college. Today, I treasure the moments I capture for my three daughters and clients. My eldest, Hannah, now 15, has been assisting me in wedding shoots since April 2022 and is showing great promise as a photographer.

The History of Middleton Lodge

Middleton Lodge, nestled in the heart of Darlington, County Durham, holds a significant place in English history that spans over two centuries. This heritage wedding venue was originally constructed in the late 18th century as a country mansion by architect John Carr, and belonged to the Tate family, one of the wealthiest lead-mining families in northern England. The Georgian country estate, which enjoys expansive views across 200 acres of private countryside, stayed within the Tate lineage until the last descendant passed away in 1980. Subsequently, the Estate was bought by the Allison family in the same year and under their ownership; it seamlessly transitioned into a highly sought-after natural wedding venue. The extensive renovation in recent years has added layers of charm and elegance to this historical gem. The main house, the Fig House, and the Garden Pavilion provide brides and grooms with a panoramic and glorious backdrop for their special day. Operating with the promise of offering ‘exclusive use’ to patrons, Middleton Lodge ensures each wedding retains its unique charm within its historic architectural masterpiece.
